At least 13 players from the Texarkana area will be on the sidelines and in action this Saturday in the Agent Barry Live United Bowl.

Those 13 area players all are on the Southern Arkansas University Muleriders football team, which is taking on the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas at noon at Arkansas High Razorback Stadium in Texarkana.

Of those players, seven come from Texarkana schools.

Jared Brown-Arkansas High

Kendrix McCann-Arkansas High

Anthony Jordan-L-E

Chris Paul-L-E

Marquon Edmund-L-E

Calvin Lyons-L-E

DeMarcus Pegue-L-E

The other six players come from close by and are:

Jimmie Houston-New Boston

LaMontrick Turner-Ashdown

Kyler Means-Hope

Troy Thomas-Nashville

Cole Davis-Queen City

Jaron Baker-Foreman

Also, Payton Baird of Fouke will be riding the Mulerider Mascot at the football game.

The gates will open at 10AM Saturday morning, with the kickoff at noon. Tickets are just $10 for adults and $4 for students. You can buy them online here or at the gate.

There will be drawings for cash and prizes at the end of each quarter including a $1,000 dollar cash drawing at the end of the game. You must be present to win.

Pre-game and halftime performances will be held by both schools' bands. There will also be cheerleader and dance team performances throughout the game, and also a very special halftime performance by Arkansas' very own Barrett Baber, a recent finalist on the Voice.

Remember all proceeds beyond expenses go to the United Way of Greater Texarkana, which gives to local agencies, which in turn helps out those in need right here at home.

It's a great cause and fun way to show your local support. We encourage you to show up and support the bowl game, our local athletes and the United Way.
