Let’s Get Social – Where Are You Peeping Your Twits These Days?

There was a big blowup last week from the most popular podcaster on the planet, Joe Rogan, over Twitter and the fact that if someone tweets something on their feed that the Twits don't like, they permanently ban you from their service. Joe left, I left a while back when they banned President Trump. You don't ban the President of the United States from your service because you differ with them politically. I would say the same thing about Joe Biden if he was banned too. It's just wrong. If you're going to leave the communist dictators and child porn promoters on your service, then you have no moral ground to stand on removing the Prez. I don't care if you like him or not.

I'm relatively certain that most of you are dumping Twitter just like Joe and I did, so which social platforms are getting the most buzz these days? Where is everyone going?

The Choices

Joe Rogan went to GETRR, when he announced the move it was a new one to me, I've never heard of it before. So, I joined it... @RadioJimWeaver if you're interested. While checking it out I learned the site and app launched about six months ago in July of 2021. As of a report in November, GETRR had almost 3 million users, however, that was before Rogan announced he was headed over there. As of today, Joe is brought 700,000 of his 7 million podcast followers with him.

So far, I'm liking it.

About a year or so ago I joined Telegram, that one has blown up quite nicely since it was launched in 2014 and recently announced they have over 500,000 million users worldwide. Impressive, yes? To be honest, I haven't done much with it. But if that's the place everyone is headed, maybe I'll start. @RadioJimWeaver there as well.

The first two are good replacements for the Twit, but what about other social media platforms?

I also joined MEWE.com back in 2018, again, never did much with it, the social media site seems to be doing quite well though. MEWE has over 20 million registered users now and might be a good replacement for Facebook if you're looking for that sort of thing. Most importantly, MEWE states that your private life is #NOT4SALE. I hope they mean that. They have a free version and a paid version. The free version seems pretty good for most people, the paid version gives a lot of benefits though.

I also joined Rumble.com as an alternative to YouTube. The YT has been doing the same thing as the Twit these days, canceling people because they disagree with a video that's posted. Not that the video is wrong or false, they just don't like it, so they shut users down. That is wrong. It boils down to they simply don't like conservative viewpoints. Well, I don't want to be on a site that stomps all over political beliefs, mine, yours, whoever. Again, I haven't really done anything with Rumble yet, just have the account so far... but I'ma gonna.
