Texas Stores Restricting Egg Purchases Because Of Bird Flu
Everybody in Texas is dealing with one major issue: the price of eggs. Many have noticed that purchasing eggs has hit the wallet harder and harder as time goes on. What could be the reason?
Why Have Eggs Prices Gotten Higher In Texas?
Per The Austin American-Statesman, the issue is with the eggs themselves. Due to the bird flu and a very aggressive and contagious type of it, getting eggs has become more difficult. But also due to the high prices, some Texans have purchased multiple eggs at once to combat the possibility of missing them if the prices continue to grow.
But, hoarding a specific item doesn't help the shortage problem. Nobody wants to see another person take all of one item. To this end, stores in Texas are taking steps to stop this from happening outright.

What Are Texas Stores Doing To Stop Potential Egg Hoarding?
As revealed by The Austin American-Statesman, many Texas stores are putting out new rules that deal with buying eggs from their businesses. Trader Joe's has begun watching for potential egg hoarders, putting the maximum available to customers at one carton of a dozen. Costco set the cap at three cases, which come in either two or four dozen varieties.
Aldi also has restricted customers to getting two dozen eggs. Sprouts on the other hand is allowing four boxes to be bought. Lastly, Walmart has a restriction on one item, the 60 count case, which is only two per customer.
Hopefully soon, egg prices will drop in Texas!
