Texas CEO Named ‘Time’s 2024 CEO of the Year’

Like most of us I don’t know that name of very many CEO’s of companies here in Texas. We all know there are very hard working and intelligent people here in the Lone Star State. But I didn’t know until a recent article by My San Antonio, that one CEO in Texas was just named Time Magazine’s 2024 CEO of the Year. 

Are You Familiar With Lisa Su? 

To be honest, I had never heard her name before, but she has done some remarkable things within her career, and she isn’t done yet. Lisa Su lives and works in Austin as the CEO for Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD).  

She has been in this possession since 2014 and in that time has been able to surpass their rival company Intel in value for the first time ever. AMD stock trading prices have seen a 50-fold increase according to Time.

Su Has the Intelligence and Gets Work Done 

Lisa Su has been in the semiconductor industry for 30 years, after going to school in Massachusetts earning three degrees including her doctorate. 

Prior to being the CEO at AMD, Lisa spent 12 years at IBM then nearly 4 and ½ years at Freescale Semiconductor. 

Texas Can Open So Many Doors If You’re Willing to Work 

I love reading stories about people like Lisa who worked harder than most other people and became successful because she was willing to do things that others weren’t. It’s also great to hear that Texas is the home to such a brilliant mind. Congratulations on the amazing accomplishment, Lisa!
