Texarkana, Get Ready For a Wellness Remix in April

Texarkana, Texas is teaming up with Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Texarkana  Healthcare Marketing Professionals for an exciting event called the Wellness Remix: Total Health and Wellness Expo.

The Expo will take place on Tuesday, April 30th, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Texarkana Convention Center. This event is all about celebrating health and giving people of all ages lots of helpful resources and tips to live a healthier life.

Everyone is invited to come and check out what's available, meet healthcare experts, get advice on managing your money, learn about staying fit, spiritual guidance, understand Medicare and social security, and even learn how to protect yourself from fraud. There will be workshops you can join and lots of different vendors to explore, all focused on helping you live your best and healthiest life.

Jay Davis from Texas A&M University-Texarkana says events like this are really important because they help us all live healthier lives. By giving us access to important services and information, we can take better care of ourselves.

There will be over 100 vendors at the event, so it's a great chance for businesses and organizations to show off what they have to offer to help people be healthy. They'll be talking to people of all ages, from kids to seniors, about how to plan for the future or stay healthy now.

Justin Sutton, the President of Texarkana Healthcare Marketing Professionals, thinks these resources will make a big difference in our community. Healthcare can be hard to get sometimes, so they want to make sure it's easier for people to find the help they need.

This event is free for everyone to come and enjoy. Parents of high school students can learn about things like FAFSA and planning for graduation. Plus, experts will be there to talk about Medicare and help you find the best health plan.

Kristi Kilgore, from the Health Department, says that teaming up with different organizations has helped them reach more people.

“In partnering with more diverse organizations, we have been able to really expand our reach over the last couple of years,” said Kilgore. “As this event grows to include not only wellness organizations but financial and other community services, it has an even greater impact on our community's overall well-being.”

During the day, there will be workshops led by experts who know a lot about health and wellness. You can also enter to win prizes. These workshops will give you great tips on staying healthy and feeling your best.
