Arkansas State Police Arrest Morrilton Man on CSAM Charges
Arkansas State Police have arrested a Morrilton man following an investigation into alleged child sexual abuse material and online contact with a Texas juvenile.
According to authorities, 23-year-old Collin Cormier of Morrilton, Arkansas, was taken into custody on Wednesday, March 4, after investigators with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit executed a search and arrest warrant at a residence in Morrilton.
Cyber Tip Sparked Investigation
Investigators say the case began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip through the Microsoft platform. The report identified 100 images of suspected child sexual abuse material.
The tip was forwarded to the Arkansas State Police ICAC Unit, which opened an investigation into the account activity.
During the investigation, authorities say evidence indicated Cormier allegedly exchanged sexually explicit messages online with a juvenile in Texas and discussed plans to meet the child.
Arrest and Charges
Cormier was arrested with assistance from the Morrilton Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations.
