Arkansas Swifties, Are You Ready For A Taylor Swift Literary Course?

You can't make this stuff up... a 10-week literary course based on Taylor Swift song lyrics is now being offered in Little Rock. Hands up, who's going? 

Taylor Swift is quite the phenomenon these days, I'm not sure the pop (former) country icon can get much bigger. It's not that bad a thing I guess since for the most part she seems to be a mostly positive influence on young women. I don't think I would take

her advice on dating or politics, but that's just me. Her fans, however, are another story.

There's nothing wrong with being a big fan of a performer, getting excited when they release new music, being interested in who they're dating, etc. But when they start offering literary courses on the artist's song lyrics, that's when my side-eye swings into action.

This is a 10-week course offered through a bookstore in Little Rock and will be conducted at the Venture Center downtown on Tuesday nights starting this month. I would tell you which one Swities, but it is, unfortunately, sold out. Maybe that's the point.

I believe there's a fine line between being a fan and being a complete blithering nutjob hanging on to your sanity by a very small thread. Some of y'all may have cut that thread, just saying.
