One and done... After 35 years in operation, the I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas will rumble no more after this weekend.

If you love the Sprint Cars, Outlaws, Modifieds, CCSD Series, USRA, Limited, Factory, and even know what I'm talking about here, then you love dirt track racing, and for the last 35 years that's exactly what's been going on, and making all that glorious noise on Saturday nights at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas.

After the fans in the stands clear, the trash is picked up, the last trailer pulls out of the pit area, and the lights go out this Saturday, the quiet will be deafening.

Many car owners/drivers/crews and fans from all over the Ark-La-Tex have made the trek to Little Rock for a fun night of racing action over the years, this Saturday, October 1, will be your last chance.

According to the story you can see in the video above from THV11 in Little Rock, the owner, Tracy Clay, says this decision was a tough one, she also states that she cannot disclose who is purchasing the property at this time. Records obtained by the television station do indicate that a zoning change has been requested, if that turns out to be the case, then you can bet that whoever is buying the property will not be keeping it a race track.

For many, Friday night lights are made for High School Football, but Saturday night lights are made for the roar of un-muffled engines, speed, and the excitement of "rubbing is racing" action. It's sad to see it go, but change, just like death and taxes, is inevitable.

Be safe, good luck, and drivers... start your engines!
