Harvest Regional Food Bank At Lafayette Co Fair Grounds This Morning, January 27
Harvest Regional Food Bank is returning to Lafeyette County with its TEFAP USDA Commodity Mobile Pantry. “With the recent rise in hunger, it’s more important than ever that Harvest meet the needs of our food-insecure families where they are,” says Camille Coker Wrinkle, CEO/Executive Director. “Our goal is to continue making sure families have the food they need, even during this challenging time.”
Harvest Regional Food Bank will distribute TEFAP USDA Commodities directly from their truck today, Wednesday, January 27, 2021, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm or until all boxes have been distributed. The truck will be parked at Lafayette County Fair Grounds located at 1360 Hwy 82 Lewisville, AR 71845.
With CDC precautions and recommendations against the Coronavirus still in place, Harvest is taking every measure to ensure the safety of its staff, volunteers and recipients. Mobile pantries our now operating as “drive-thru” distributions, with food boxes being loaded directly into vehicles. Recipients will not be allowed to exit the vehicle or park to pick up food.
According to the Press Release, recipients must bring photo identification or proof of address for verifying they are a resident of Lafayette County. Distribution is limited to 1 box per household and 2 households per vehicle.

Last year, Harvest distributed 3.2M meals and served over 60,000 individuals in Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas. Both states consistently rank in the top 10 for the highest incidents of hunger. Nearly 20% of our local residents miss meals due to food insecurity, including 1 in 4 children. Harvest works to eliminate hunger through its Food Banking, Food Rescue, School Backpack and Mobile Pantry programs.
