Free Fishing Days are Coming for Texas and Arkansas

If you live in Texas save the date June 3, 2023, and grab your rod and reels because it's Free Fishing Day in the Lone Star State. That's right you can fish with no license required.

Free Fishing in Texas

Thanks to Texas Parks and Wildlife, the free fishing day happens on the first Saturday of June each year. However, keep in mind that fishing without a license applies to only public bodies of water. Privately owned Federal waters in the Gulf are off-limits.

So, whether you fish all the time or this is your first time there is a Texas Parks Wildlife website that will help you find the best places on the lake to fish. And if you like river fishing there's even a website dedicated to that too.

By the way, fishing is free year-round at every Texas State Park no license is required or stamp, just pay an entry fee.

What about Arkansas?

Anglers in Arkansas (residents or non-residents) can fish for free the weekend of June 10-11, 2023.
