Erin Andrews — Crush of the Day
Erin Andrews, the babe who helped make sideline reporting one of our favorite parts of the game, is leaving ESPN, according to reports. But don’t worry; she won’t be gone from the tube for long. Word is the former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ contestant is in talks to join Fox Sports.
A gig at Fox would mark a homecoming for Andrews, who started her career as a freelancer for Fox Sports Florida 12 years ago. Since then, the 34-year-old journalist and broadcaster has helped make game day even more dynamic with her presence on the sideline.
As her star rose, Andrews became something of a celebrity and booked several appearances on late-night and daytime talk shows. She joined ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in 2012.
The Lewiston, Maine native landed several endorsement deals, which forced ESPN to rethink its endorsement guidelines for its talent.
So what does Andrews move to Fox mean for sports fans? Two things: You’ll probably get to see even more of her, since Fox owns a number of sports channels, not counting their non-cable network that tends to dominate weekend sports. And you can probably look forward to another sharp and sexy sports journo taking her place at ESPN. Sounds like a good deal for Andrews and for us.
