This Great Drive-Thru Safari Is Only A Short Drive From Texarkana
I was looking for something that the whole family could do and is not too expensive to do and I found the perfect day trip to a safari in Texas.
With gas prices sky high and funds in short supply if you are like my family we are looking for something to do that is easy on the cash. A friend of mine posted a couple of videos of this drive-thru safari in Jacksonville and of course, was curious.
The Cherokee Trace Drive-Thru Safari has a wide assortment of animals and the price was reasonable, but what really caught my attention was the fact that the animals were coming up to and even in the cars.
So we planned a trip the safari. It is only a 2 and a half hour trip and it is worth every penny. Your ticket includes a bag of food with each ticket, and I purchased an additional bag just in case. So with four people in the Jeep, we had food for the entire trip.
As you can see the donkeys were pretty friendly, letting us know they were ready to be fed.
My wife was a little reluctant to feed this red deer. But it was super friendly.
This cow was the highlight of the safari. He had no issue with sticking that tongue out to get his food.
A whole family of Emus was very curious about what we had and the big one could even catch the food we threw to them.
The Zebras were my favorite. It is so neat to get to see these creatures up close like this in an environment that lets you interact with them.
The safari takes about 2 hours, and the video only shows a small part of what you will experience. Don't listen to the commentary too much. I sound like an idiot, but the animals are the true stars.
