Jason Bonham is having a busy summer supporting Heart on tour with his Led Zeppelin Experience tribute band.  His group’s shows feature a special segment where he performs along with film footage of his late father, founding Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, but now Jason says he wants to make the virtual stage collaboration even more realistic.

“It’s imperative that I continue putting together the best shows and take it to the next level,” he explains.  “I’m talking to people about holograms and my dream is to do the hologram drum solo with Dad next to me.”

He notes that “there’s so much more that I would love to do” with regard to using technology to improve his band’s performances, while admitting that things may be limited with regard to a holographic John Bonham because of the lack of quality film footage that exists of the rock legend.

Jason explains that his goal in putting together his tribute band was “to create a complete experience of what Led Zeppelin means to me, growing up around them and being part of it all my life.”

Meanwhile, Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience is getting ready to hit the road for another series of dates with Heart that runs from this Friday in Detroit through an August 31 concert in Seattle.  Each of the shows includes a finale in which Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson join Jason’s band for a set of Led Zeppelin material.  Bonham explains he and the Wilson sisters were careful to choose Zeppelin “songs that were challenging as well as memorable and that’s what makes it so much fun.”
