Birthday Luau Party at Arkansas’ Little Rock Zoo for ‘Jaya’
As summertime approaches keeping the kids entertained can sometimes be challenging. How about a road trip to Arkansas' Little Rock Zoo to attend "Jammin' with Jaya," a Birthday Luau? It's the Zoo's newest Malayan tiger!
This luau-themed party has been set for Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Jaya an 11-year-old Malayan tiger that has fast become a popular favorite at the zoo.
You're invited to come to join the party and learn more about this endangered species of tiger and what is being done to help preserve them for the future of our world.
All guests to the zoo are encouraged to wear a Hawaiian shirt, a tiger shirt, or bring a stuffed tiger, to receive one free entry in their prize drawing for some fantastic prizes. And for a $5 donation, you get additional chances at winning! All the proceeds go to the MYCAT tiger conservation organization.
- Zoo Membership
- Dining Gift Certificate
- Tiger-themed Gift Basket
- One of two framed pictures of Jaya
Birthday activities are included with a regular price of admission to the zoo. The luau party will feature a kid's craft table, biofacts to explore, a stuffed tiger parade, keeper charts, and of course, Birthday Cake as long as it lasts. Jaya's Birthday Party will begin at 11:15 a.m. at the top of the big cat habitat. Photos with the zoo's tiger mascot will be available as well. Forget about Tony the Tiger, this is all about Jaya the Tiger!
About Malayan Tiger
Did you know, according to John Goodrich, Chief Scientist and Tiger Program Director for Panthera, the global wild cat conservation organization, there are around 150 Malayan tigers left in the wild. These beautiful cats can run up to 40 MPH when out in the wild. Malayan tigers are found in the tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests of the southern tip of Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia.
