Miller County Sheriffs Office is investigating a weekend home invasion that left a 16 year old male hospitalized with a gunshot wound.

According to a news release, deputies are looking into the incident hat occurred at a residence off County Road 295.  Authorities responded to the residence at approximately 4:40AM  Saturday morning in reference to a prowler call.  The home owner reported someone was attempting to break into his home.  The home owner confronted an armed perpetrator who he reported as being dressed in all black and wearing a ski-mask.  The two-exchanged gun fire and the perpetrator fled the area on foot.  At the time of the call deputies were unable to locate the suspect.

A couple of hours later deputies were notified of a 16-year-old male gun-shot victim at Wadley Regional Medical Center.

The Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident.  The 16-year-old male gun-shot victim is listed in stable condition.
