You Can Fish for Free in Arkansas June 11-13
Arkansas anglers both young and old will be able to fish for free on June 11-13. No license or permit required.
Thanks to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s free fishing days, the event, which is held annually, starts at noon Friday and will continue until Sunday. During the free fishing days, anglers of all ages will not be required to have a fishing license or trout permit to fish anywhere in the State of Arkansas.
Here is a little information for you on the basics of trout fishing.
This year the fishing derby is back. Due to ongoing COVID restrictions space is limited. Here are the locations for this year's fishing derby that will take place on Saturday from 8 am until noon. Adults will be able to fish with the kids this year as well. There will be fishing Derbys at the following locations in Arkansas, Andrew Hulsey State Fish Hatchery in Hot Springs, Charlie Craig State Fish Hatchery in Centerton, William Donham State Fish Hatchery in Corning, and Joe Hogan State Fish Hatchery in Lonoak.
Residents and nonresidents may fish this weekend without fishing licenses or trout permits. Regulations for Arkansas waters apply: daily limits, slot limits, and length limits must be observed.
A fishing license regularly costs $10.50 from the AGFC for Arkansas residents. For non-residents, the cost is $40.
