Winter Storm Warnings For Most of Arkansas And Parts of Texas
That warmer weather earlier this week is done and we are back to a wintery mix for all of Arkansas and most of Texas too. What's in store for Texarkana, Hot Springs, Dallas?
For the most part, Arkansas will see ice and sleet. The Northwest Arkansas area will see sleet and snow.
Winter Storm Warning in Effect For These Areas Tonight and Tomorrow
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the northern half of Arkansas tonight and tomorrow with a chance of first ice and sleet tonight and then snow tomorrow. Temperatures down to the teens or low 20's and highs tomorrow only around the mid-twenties.
Fayetteville, Fort Smith and Jonesboro will all see rain then turning into a winter mix later this evening. Then turning to snow by tomorrow. These areas are looking at a possible snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches.
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect tonight through tomorrow night for the middle of Arkansas like Hot Springs and Little Rock and Hope with rain and sleet tonight and into the morning then the possibility of snow tomorrow. Possible accumulations of snow is up to 1/2 inch. Temperatures down to the upper 20's tonight and highs of 30.
Winter Weather Advisories in Effect for the Southern Portions of Arkansas
Then as you get further south in Arkansas like Texarkana, Magnolia and El Dorado we will be under Winter Weather Advisories with rain tonight and early tomorrow then by noon changing to a wintery mix with freezing rain. No snow is expected but ice accumulation expected is less than 0.1 of an inch.
Parts of Texas Under Winter Storm Warning Tonight and Tomorrow
Dallas, Sulpher Springs, Mount Pleasant and even New Boston will see rain turn to freezing rain and then snow. Dallas is expected to see 1 to 3 inches of snow. Where as Mount Pleasant and New Boston could see up to 1/2 inch of snow. But Texarkana is just an icy wintery mix? Hmmm.
