A really big wave is a cause for joy if you're a surfer, but most of the time you're going to want to stay away from something that powerful. Sure, sometimes it can be pretty fun when a wave catches you off-guard, but if you're in the middle of, say, proposing to your girlfriend, perhaps the edge of the ocean isn't the best choice.
