The 18th Annual Bramlett Beans & Cornbread luncheon is on Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 11AM to 1PM at the Southwest Community Center. Lunch includes beans and cornbread and is sponsored by Big Jake’s BBQ and Texarkana Independent School District. Sodas are sponsored by Coca Cola and coffee and dessert sponsored by Starbucks. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Christmas Basket program, which is a volunteer effort by the Cities of Texarkana, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas and Texarkana Water Utilities which provides holiday food for need families in the area.
The cost for Bramlett Beans and Cornbread is $5 per person or 6 non-perishable food items.
Along with the meal, students from Texas High will display handmade pottery as part of the Empty Bowls project. A silent auction will be held and proceeds will be donated to the Christmas Baskets project.
