Jared McCasland joined Texarkana based band Psylo in 2008, played bass, and did some vocals with the group that just recently signed with Metal Den Records, and had been performing at venues in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Local authorities said that Jared and a female companion had swam beyond the designated swimming area on Wright Patman Lake's north shore.  It was reported that he went under the water a little after 3 p.m., other beach goers were able to retrieve McCasland from the water, but even with their heroic efforts, were unable to revive him, and he was declared dead on arrival at Wadley Hospital.

McCasland's body has been sent for an autopsy, but drugs or alcohol are not believed to be involved.

We just lost our brother, best friend and band mate today. Jared Mccasland. We love you bro! And thank you for your friendship. We will never be same without you.
