Tool’s Adam Jones Wows WWE Crowd With His Take on the National Anthem [VIDEO]

Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera are among the notable artists who have added some personal flair to their renditions of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” On Aug. 14, Tool guitarist Adam Jones had the chance to leave his mark on the national anthem, and he did just that, performing a thunderous take on it prior to the WWE SummerSlam 2011 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Jones’ fancy fretwork pumped up the 17,000-plus in the crowd, which included such stars as Jenny McCarthy, Michael Clarke Duncan and Rose McGowan. SummerSlam 2011 also featured a performance by Cee Lo Green. Look for more of Jones’ guitar firepower on Tool’s in-progress fifth studio album.
