This time of year when the temperatures drop it's time for some good old-fashioned Chili. Mark your calendars for the Texarkana Area Veterans Council 22nd Annual Chili Cook-Off. 

It will all take place at the Truman Arnold Center at Texarkana College on Friday, February 18, 2022, during "Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week"

If you make great chili then put it to the test and see how it does against others. There will be three categories: business, civic groups and individual. There will also be a "People's Choice" award and a "Best Presentation" award, both will be voted on by the public.

 

If you just love chili then you'll be perfect to taste all the chili's and see which ones win the big trophies.

The doors open for the chili lovers at 11 AM until 1 PM. Tickets are $8 and give you a sample of each chili plus a chance to win door prizes.

Money raised will go toward the purchase a new day van to transport local veterans to the VA Medical Center in Shreveport when needed. It will also be used to help local veterans and their families.
