Texas High School’s Tiger Theatre Company will present its production of 'Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic' from November 7 thru November 9. This is a 2015 original play by New York-based playwright Matt Cox. The play is a comedic retelling of the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling, but from the Puffs’ perspective. The show has been praised for its comedy and staging.

Cate Rounds, Tiger Theatre Company member and senior Texas High School student takes her first undertaking into directing the production. After seeing the show last fall, Rounds, a self-confessed “Potterhead,” knew it was something she wanted to do for her senior year.

“I have had the most fun with my first time directing,” said Rounds in a press release. “It has been a blast being able to work directly with Mrs. Newton, Mr. Hanna and Mrs. Flieder, along with all of my friends, to create a show that is truly magical. This show will make you laugh, cry and it will keep you rooting for the underdogs.”

Performances will be Saturday and Monday, November 7 & 9 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the John Thomas Theatre, 3941 Summerhill Road. Tiger Theatre Company will also offer a Live Stream via https://ttcths.booktix.com on Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m.

The play is the young wizards version but does come with a parental guidance suggestion due to character deaths. It is recommended for children 10 years of age and up. Run time is 2 ½ hours with intermission.

Tickets are $10 Adult/$4 Student and can be purchased by emailing melissa.newton@txkisd.net.

Attendees must wear masks and social distancing will be enforced within the facility.
