When it comes to celebrating Christmas in Texas there is an abundance of events all over the Lone Star State where families can gather for a memorable experience.

One of those places is the historic Galveston Railroad Museum where you can hop on board, "The Polar Express" train for a one-hour ride on the Gulf coast don't forget your golden ticket, and PJs are recommended. The Polar Express is part of Christmas in Galveston one of several attractions you have to put on your bucket list.

The Polar Express is based on the book and popular movie and replicates scenes with beloved characters like the conductor, the hobo, dancing chefs, and elves.

All passengers will receive hot chocolate on their ride as well as a reading of Chris Van Allsburg’s book, "The Polar Express." Along with lots of Christmas caroling, the train will wind down the tracks toward its destination, the North Pole where it will stop and pick up Santa Claus.

All children onboard will have the opportunity to get a photo with Santa and tell him whatthey want for Christmas. After visiting with all the kids, Santa will hand each child a silver bell just like in the movie. The holiday-decorated train will then make its way back to the Galveston Railroad Museum where passengers will embark on their journey home but make sure you stop by the museum gift shop for some cool gifts.

If you can't make it to Galveston the Palestine Polar Express in East Texas is a popular destination and it's a little closer to Texarkana. I don't know about you, but every time I watch this movie I want to ride on this train well, now you can.
