Texarkana Area COVID-19: By The Numbers – February 5
Bowie County reports a total of 4290 cumulative positive COVID-19 cases, COVID-related deaths are at 159. The Department of State Health Services is reporting an additional 1733 probable cases with a total of 5411 estimated recoveries.

Vaccine Update:
The Texarkana-Bowie County Family Health Center will continue taking names of individuals who want to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine. Individuals can call (903) 255-5566 between 8 am-5 pm Monday through Friday to be added to a running list of people seeking a vaccination. The Health Center staff will continue to vaccinate the public based on qualifying factors of those on the waiting list as doses are received from the state.
Texas is currently in Phase 1B of the vaccination plan, which makes vaccinations available to individuals to people 65 and older, or 16 and older with at least one chronic medical condition that puts them at increased risk for severe illness from the virus that causes COVID-19.

Cass County has a total of 1070, plus 610 probable cases and 1510 of those recovered, 99 active cases, and a COVID death total of 71.

Free testing is still being offered Monday - Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Texarkana- Bowie County Family Health Center at 902 W. 12th Street, Texarkana, TX 75501. There are no requirements for testing (residency included), oral swab with results in 48-96 hours, and pre-registration available at www.gogettested.com.
