The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is pleased to announce the upcoming promotion of one of our officers.

According to a press release, on Sunday, August 22, 2021, Lieutenant Jeffery Gladden will be promoted to the rank of Captain. Lieutenant Gladden joined the TAPD family in January of 2006, prior to being a member of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, he served as a Lieutenant at the Texarkana Texas Police Department where he retired from.

During his career, Lieutenant Gladden has served as an officer in the Patrol Division, and a Detective in the Criminal Investigation Division. For sixteen years he was a team leader on SWAT. He has also served as a Field Training Officer guiding and teaching new officers and a member of the new hire interview board. He has served as our Physical Fitness Coordinator, Lead Defensive Tactics Instructor, as well as a member of the Sergeants Promotional Board. He holds an Advanced Peace Officer Certificate and through his career has received many letters of appreciation and commendation.

Through the years with our agency, Lieutenant Gladden has worked his way up the ranks each time making a difference within the agency and the officer’s lives. We are proud to announce that on Sunday, August 22, 2021, he will be promoted to Captain and join the TAPD Administration team.
