Jynx is a super laid back kitty that would love to be your house companion. Jynx is smaller than the normal size cat too. She came to the shelter as a stray. If they could only talk and tell us where they lived or what has happened to them.

Gambit is the most adorable puppy. He is just a smidge bigger than Peanut, the shelter's office mascot. Gambit weighs approximately 15 pounds. He is a brindle mix pup. His ears look like they will stand up soon too.

There were a bunch of happy faces leaving the 2015 Friends of NRA banquet last night, new gun owners, lucky ticket holders and persistent auction buyers.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center in Texarkana, Ark., is our only animal shelter in town. They have a few hundred dogs and cats that need to be reclaimed or adopted. Turbo is a mix of an English bulldog and a mountain cur, which makes him a very interesting dog. He is approximately 1 and-a-half years old. He has a wonderful personality and loves his people.

This sweet shepherd mix is between one and two years old. She is very frightened to be at the shelter and would do so much better if she was in a home. She walks great on a leash and appears to be very healthy. She loves affection.

Alfie is just a brown dog and that is what caught my eye because I knew he would be passed over for more colorful dogs but this is what I learned about him yesterday. He is calm, sweet, smart and respectful. He also appears to be house trained.

Girls Night Out is this Thursday, April 23, at Northridge Country Club, and it is all about us ladies! It will be a night of shopping, drinks, appetizers, laughs, door prizes and lots of "just us girls" fun.
