Just Plane Nuts

We got off to a late start due to low cloud cover in Fayetteville Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning but it all worked out alright as B-29 Doc touched down at Texarkana Regional Airport Wednesday a little after 2 PM.

I can't wait to get back in the saddle with these warbirds in East Texas. The Mid America Flight Museum in Mt Pleasant is opening back up this weekend for you to come see these beauties up close. Because, like you, I'm 'Just Plane Nuts.'

I'm sure most of you have seen the horrific crash by now that happened this past Saturday, November 12 at the Wings Over Dallas World War II airshow. Today the Commemorative Air Force released the names of the men lost in that accident.

What a weekend, what an air show. This was my first time attending the show at the Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas, and other than a little parking confusion, it was a great time for your "Just Plane Nuts" reporter.

It has been way too long for me, I think the last time was a year or two before all the COVID-19 mess. I know there are some coming up in the fall, but I'm getting a little antsy.

Since my mother, and now a whole bunch of my new family (long story), lives in Houston, I make pretty frequent trips down there to see them. On one of those trips a few years ago I found out that the Houston Wing of the Commemorative Air Force is based at the West Houston Airport (IWS), very near my mother's house.
