James Black School of Bladesmithing

Do you know a veteran who would love to learn about bladesmithing? Here is a wonderful opportunity for them and it's free of charge. The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Foundation is hosting a free bladesmithing course for veterans at the James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades.

If you love knives or have a collection, wouldn't it be nice to know more and even learn the art of making a hunting knife? You can at a special course that will take place at the James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades.

Have you ever wondered if you fell into a survival situation, could you do it? Could you be the one that has the skills to make it through a basic survival situation? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe you should take this survival skills course through UAHT and find out.

The James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades in Washington State Park, Arkansas will be offering a knifemaking class, instructed by Jerry Fisk.

Ricardo Vilar, of Brazil, has been named a judge on the hit television show “Forged in Fire” Latin American Edition on History Channel. Vilar is a world-renowned bladesmith and an instructor at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades.

The James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades will offer a Hunting Knife Class on April 20-23 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In this intensive 4-day class students will learn to forge a carbon steel blade, heat treat metal, fashion a wooden handle and brass guard, and sharpen a knife.

The Custom Knife Collectors Association recently toured the newly renovated campus of the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades. After the tour, the association presented the UAHT Foundation with a donation of $15,000 to support the mission of the UAHT James Black School.
