Texas A&M University-Texarkana recently named Jim Turley as the new head coach of the university tennis teams. As the new coach, Turley will oversee both the men’s and women’s tennis programs.

Texas A&M University-Texarkana and the Office of Extended Education and Community Development will be offering an 80-hour Medical Billing and Coding course beginning September 17th and ending on December 10. Tuition for the course, which will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6PM – 9:30PM, is $1899 and includes textbooks.

Texas A&M University-Texarkana and the Office of Extended Education and Community Development will be offering an 11-week Ophthalmic Assistant/Optician training course beginning September 4.

Texas A&M University-Texarkana and The East Texas Writing Project are sponsoring the 28th Annual Young Writers Workshop July 16-27. The workshop, which is open to students entering the 1st grade through the 12th, focuses on age-appropriate material for each grade level.

The Texas A&M University-Texarkana Athletic Department will be holding three clinics/camps to help improve the skills of area athletes. The university athletic department will be hosting clinics for Baseball, Softball, and Soccer during the month of July.

The Bowie County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M University-Texarkana will present the program “Preserving the Harvest” on Monday, July 9, 2018.  The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 6PM until 8PM in room 306 of A&M-Texarkana’s Science and Technology Building.

Texas A&M University-Texarkana is offering a course in Occupational Safety July 9-13 through its Extended Education and Community Development program.  Successful completion of the course will allow the students to become Certified Occupational Safety Specialists.

A group of Texas A&M University-Texarkana math students fared very well in a recent Differential Equation Modeling Competition put on by the Systemic Initiative for Modeling Investigations and Opportunities.
