The Scorpions have announced dates for the North American leg of their 2012 farewell trek, the Final Sting World Tour.  The outing is set to launch on June 8 in Reno, Nevada, and is mapped out through a July 12 show in Washington, D.C.  According to the ScorpsNews.com fan site more shows will be added to the jaunt, which will feature opening act Tesla on select dates.

The veteran German rockers will precede the stateside tour with a European road trip that gets under way March 30 in Amiens, France.  The metal mavens also have a South American leg planned for September, and then will return to Europe for what likely will be their final run of shows before they officially call it quits. "It looks like 2012 we face the final curtain, sooner or later," Scorpions singer Klaus Meinedeclared in a recent interview with ABC News Radio.  "But we're very excited to come back to the United States in the summer." Besides their busy itinerary, The Scorps have been promoting their new studio album, Comeblack which features a selection of classic rock covers and reworked versions of their own tunes.  They also have been participating in a documentary about their long career, Big City Nights: The Scorpions Story. [The movie] will hopefully be out there in 2013," said Meine.  "We started…filming in early 2011 and taking this camera crew around the world in places like Bangkok and Paris, Berlin, London, and we will take them definitely to the United States in the summer." He added about the flick, "[It's] about a band that started out of Germany, as a non-English-speaking band, going and taking our music all over the world…[I]t will take our fans behind the scenes and it will tell the story about this band that started 40 years ago to rock the world like a hurricane."  Here are all of The Scorpions confirmed North American tour dates, according to the band's official site, The-Scorpions.com:
