Rare 5 Planet Alignment This Week – Where To Watch in Texarkana
The night sky is putting on a rare show for us this month, five of the planets in our solar system will align themselves for early morning viewing. Where and when to look? Let's find out.
The alignment is happening right now and is visible in the early morning eastern sky before dawn. But this Friday, June 24, get ready for the big show as all five will be almost in a straight line across the sky and a crescent moon will join them as well giving us an amazing photo opp if we have a clear sky.
Which will be lined up?
- Mercury
- Venus
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn
- Moon bonus on Friday
You may have to get up early for this one but it looks like it will be well worth the price of admission. Which is FREE in case you were wondering.
The best time to view is about 30 minutes before sunrise according to the experts. Get to as high a point as you can, to make sure you see them all. Tall trees could keep you from seeing Mercury if you don't have a clear horizon.
