As most of you know I love traveling in Arkansas because of its natural beauty one place I discovered is not far from Texarkana, in fact, it lies between Prescott and Camden near White Oak Lake right off Highway 24.

Little Grand Canyon

It's named the Little Grand Canyon and as you will see in a YouTube video posted below from up above it looks a lot like the Grand Canyon due to its strange rock formations of sandstone.

And with the recent rains, we have been having in the state water should be running rampant through the canyon walls. With the colors of the sandstone, the water appears to give off a blue-green hue.

The Little Grand Canyon is also home to a nearby swimming hole and for the more adventurous there are a number of hiking trails in the area with scenic views of the wooded forests.

How to Get There

From Texarkana head East on I-30 until you get to Prescott then GPS Ouachita County Road 332 off of Highway 24, start looking for signs that say, White Oak Public Fishing Lake. This is where it gets a little tricky Little Grand Canyon is not located on the same side as White Oak Lake State Park and campground.

The good news, once you find the Little Grand Canyon you will be mesmerized by its beauty just as I was.
