Memorial Day Ceremony

The Annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be held in Texarkana on Monday.The even begins with a remembrance at the Miller County Courthouse at 11:00 a.m. immediately followed by the Memorial Walk from the Courthouse to the Korean-Vietnam Memorial at 7th and State Line.

The days events will conclude with a ceremony at the Hillcrest Memorial Park on Highway 67 in Wake Village at 1 p.m. Travel through their avenue of Flags featuring over 285 U.S. Flags on the drives and observe over 1200 U.S. Flags marking the graves of Veterans throughou the cemetary.

There will be singing, music and speakers along with the roll call of local Veterans Organizations, a 21 gun salute and taps and releasing of balloons.

This is a free event and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.
