Maybe Some Relief Coming From The Heat & Drought
Some much needed rain and slightly cooler temperatures may be headed for the Texarkana AreaTexarkana Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Hall says the National Weather Service is forecasting a 40 to 50% chance of thunderstorms this weekend into next week as a cool front approaches the area.
The area is in need of rainfall as most places are classified in a severe to extreme drought conditions, with Southwest Arkansas having the driest conditions.
Hall says on the down side there is the potential for these thunderstorms to contain some strong downbursts with storms developing quickly and then collapsing. These downbursts could bring winds of 40 to 50 mph or greater in some cases.
