Local Burger Restaurant Is Forced To Change Its Name
A local favorite burger restaurant is being forced to change its name.
Capital Burgers located at 5309 N. State Line Ave., Texarkana, Texas is being forced to change its name. Bryan Ogburn, owner of The newly named 'Smoke Point' said
"The reason I am changing the name is following the request of Darden Food Group, the corporate owner of restaurant brands such as Olive Garden, Longhorn Steaks, Cheddars and others," "They have trademarked the brand name 'Capital Burger' and they have demanded this be changed, so we have."
Bryan goes on to talk about how the new name will not change the great menu. They also plan to add some additional items as well. I have had almost everything on the menu and the 'Gooey Moo' is one of my favorites.
Their great burger patty, the smokey flavor of the burnt ends of the brisket, and of course the smoked gouda cheese make this burger very special. Then top it all of with the sourdough bread make this one of my favorite burgers in our area. They also have a full menu of different burger options and the portions are huge. My wife can barely finish the kids' burger and my daughter Addy loves their grilled cheese. Oh and don't worry they have salads for those who are looking for a lighter option.
The new name of the business is 'Smoke Point', Capital Flavor, and will continue to serve great burgers for the Texarkana area. So take a minute to support our local businesses. With all that has been going on, and they need our support now more than ever. They are my go-to place for take-out.
