Riverfest in Little Rock will hold its 40th anniversary celebration starting at 1PM Sunday, June 4, in the River Market District. All members of the community are invited to celebrate this milestone.

According to the press release, admission to the event is $5 (children 10 & under are free) at the gate. Ticket holders to the Riverfest music festival will gain free admission. The celebration will include a full day of family-friendly events, capped off with a performance by Morris Day & The Time at 7:15PM, followed by the First Security Bank fireworks display at 9PM.

“We’re really looking forward to throwing it back to 1977 – the year Riverfest was founded – during this 40th celebration. Those who attended Riverfest in the early years will feel a sense of nostalgia with Sunday’s events,” said DeAnna Korte, the festival’s executive director.

The first 1,000 festival goers through the gates will receive a free 40th anniversary koozie sponsored by Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
