LifeShare Extends Center Hours For Blood Donation To Help Flood Affected Areas

LifeShare Blood Center is extending its center hours until 7PM today through Thursday, August 31 to accommodate additional blood donations because of the severe weather along the coast.

Eligible donors are encouraged to help support patients in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana, and to help maintain a stable supply in our community.According to a press release, the cancelled blood drives and closed centers have resulted in the elimination of more than 400 expected LifeShare blood donations in the Beaumont, Texas and Lake Charles, La. areas due to flood conditions. LifeShare is the blood provider to hospitals in these areas and is currently supporting medical teams in the Houston area with donated blood.

There will also be a blood drive Wednesday, August 30 at Walmart Super Center located on New Boston Road from 12PM to 4PM look for the LifeShare Mobile.
