(KMDL-FM) The Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall advisory of popular snack products, some sold at Target Stores, because of a Salmonella concern. The recalled products were sold under several different brand names across the country.

There is a strong concern that many consumers might have purchased the products months or weeks ago, and they are currently being stored in pantries and cupboards around the nation.

The recalled products were manufactured or produced by John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. That company is voluntarily recalling the snack products according to the press release made available by the Food and Drug Administration.

The contamination concern stems from concerns over dry milk powder. California Dairies, Inc issued a recall on its dry milk powder over concerns about Salmonella. That milk powder is used as an ingredient for several varieties of snack mixes produced by Sanfilippo.

The company did run tests on several batches of the recalled products, and no cases of Salmonella were discovered. However, out of an abundance of caution, a voluntary recall was instituted.

What Snack Products and Varieties Have Been Recalled?

Here is a list of the recalled brands and varieties that are included in this recall. You should note that the recalled products were sold under the Fisher, Squirrel Brand, and Southern Style Nuts brand in retail stores, online, and via QVC.
