Legendary Scream Queen, and Movie Mom, Comes To Shreveport

Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center.

This year's Geek'd Con will feature two stars from one of the biggest movies of all time, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. One is Henry Thomas, who played Elliott in the film, and the other is the legendary Dee Wallace.

Dee Wallace is probably best known for her role as Mary Taylor in the Academy Award winning 1982 blockbuster film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Where she stars as the mother of Elliott. At the time of the movie's release, Dee was the most establish cast member, and had top billing on the film.

She is also known for her starring roles in several horror films including The Hills Have Eyes (1977), The Howling (1981), Cujo (1983), Critters (1986), and The Frighteners (1996). Roles like this earned Dee the title of "Scream Queen".

On television, Wallace played a leading role in the CBS sitcom Together We Stand, and the family drama The New Lassie. She guest starred in episodes of a number of shows, including The Twilight Zone, Supernatural, Hotel, Murder She Wrote, Touched by an Angel, Bones, Grey's Anatomy, My Name Is Earl, Criminal Minds, and The Office.

In 2015, Wallace was cast on the ABC soap opera series General Hospital, as Patricia Spencer, the unseen, long-lost older sister of Luke and Bobbie Spencer.
