One of the biggest celestial events of the year is just a few months away, the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2023. An influx of visitors is expected to arrive in the path of totality and the Texarkana area is one of those regions.

Many hotels, motels, and places to stay in the area have already been booked up for months however, if you are looking for a different option and you have an RV or camper there are several campgrounds in the surrounding area where you can hunker down to watch this cosmic spectacle.

Any of the above campgrounds is perfect for getting one of the best views of the solar eclipse but you may choose to watch from work or the backyard at your home. Just remember that you need specially-made solar glasses to view the eclipse. If you are looking through a telescope make sure the telescope is equipped with a solar lens.

Warning: Looking directly at the sun with the naked could cause you to go blind or damage your eyes permanently. Use common sense when viewing the solar eclipse. If you experience blurry vision or black spots for an extended period after watching the eclipse seek out medical attention as soon as possible.
