Arkansas’ Most Dangerous Highway: Why This Route is a ‘Recipe for Disaster’
Driving through Arkansas can become very dangerous, depending on which highway you are traveling on.
It seems to me that there are more trucks on the interstate highways than ever before, but with numerous roads and highways under construction, driving in the Natural State can become much more hazardous.
The Most Dangerous Highway in Arkansas And Why You Should Avoid It
According to the Brad Hendricks Law Firm, they revealed the "Most Dangerous Highways in Arkansas." I'm not going to list them all here, but I will tell you about one of the most dangerous.
Interstate 40, the stretch of highway that runs from Little Rock to West Memphis, has been designated as one of the deadliest in the nation when it comes to freightliners traveling this roadway.
Statistically speaking, this highway has an excessive amount of trucks traveling on it. Road construction and some bad weather patterns in the Delta region certainly don't help.
Why Drivers Should Avoid Traveling One of Arkansas's Most Dangerous Highways
I-40 has become one of the busiest roadways for semi-trucks in the U.S. The excessive number of trucks on this stretch of highway will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up as drivers try to constantly zig-zag in between a wall of trucks.
Drivers should remain alert, as numerous blind spots could lead to a deadly crash. Factor in a fatigued trucker who has been on the road too long, and it's a recipe for disaster. I don't want to sound like I'm just picking on truckers, because there are some crazy drivers out there, too.

Road Construction and Bad Delta Region Weather Conditions Lead to Crashes
Several roadway projects are underway around Proctor and Forrest City, where the lanes become narrow against concrete barriers. If a truck slightly drifts 6 inches, there is no room for error; there is no place to go.
Driving conditions can be treacherous during the springtime when fog rolls in over the highway from the open rice fields and the Delta, making visibility almost untravelable.

When traveling on I-40 from Little Rock to West Memphis, drivers should expect delays, pay attention to road construction signs, slow down, and stay alert. This could be the difference between life and death on one of Arkansas's most dangerous highways.
