Here's a fun and exciting way to bring in the Christmas cheer. This year Small Business Saturday in Texarkana will also include a city-wide Elf Hunt.

The cities of Texarkana, Texas, and Arkansas along with the Texarkana USA Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Texarkana, Communities Unlimited, and the Northeast Texas Small Business Development Center are out to make this a unique and fun holiday event.  This event, part of Small Business Saturday, is held in partnership with the American Express® Neighborhood Champion Program.

When is Small Business Saturday and The Elf Hunt?

The official Small Business Saturday is on November 30. The Holiday Elf Hunt will run from Friday, November 22, through Friday, December 6. Shoppers are encouraged to visit local businesses throughout Texarkana and search for hidden elf figures in participating stores.

What Do You Do When You Find An Elf?

If a shopper finds an elf, they will need to scan a QR code, complete a quick form, and enter to win prizes. Another way for shoppers to support our local businesses is to post photos on social media with the hashtag #ShopSmallTXK24.

Why Is Small Business Saturday So Important?

Amber Keith, Business Advisor of the Northeast Texas Small Business Development Center stated in a press release,

Efforts like Small Business Saturday are vital to supporting small businesses, which fuel job creation and help keep our economy vibrant. Supporting local businesses isn’t just about one day — it’s about building a stronger community and a resilient economy all year long.

Small Business Saturday highlights the essential role of small, locally-owned businesses in communities across the U.S. Small businesses account for nearly half of U.S. economic activity, they employ close to 62 million people, and studies show that about 68% of each dollar spent at a local business stays within the community. Since it began in 2010, Small Business Saturday has drawn shoppers to local stores, restaurants, fitness centers, salons, and more.
