Main Street Texarkana announced that the Lofts at the Grim will offer free tours of the historic 1920s Grim Hotel during Downtown Live on Friday, June 14, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. This event provides a great opportunity to explore Texarkana's history.

Downtown Live takes place in the Entertainment District of Historic Downtown Texarkana from 6:00 - 9:00 PM on the second Friday of every month. Visitors can enjoy local artists and musicians during this event. The upcoming June Downtown Live includes guided tours of the nearly restored Grim Hotel, a beautiful 100-year-old building.

Main Street Texarkana director Ina McDowell expressed excitement about the Grim Hotel's restoration, highlighting the opportunity for the public to see its progress. The Grim Hotel, built in 1924 and named after philanthropist William R. Grim, opened in June 1925. It featured modern amenities for its time, such as electric lights and restrooms in each room, and hosted notable guests like Mae West and Orson Welles.

The Grim Hotel's restoration is a significant part of Texarkana's history, and the tours during Downtown Live will showcase this landmark's revival. Downtown Live also features musicians, artists, and local businesses staying open late to accommodate visitors.
