UPDATE 6/25 5:30 PM: The necessary actions have been taken to restore the quality of the water distributed by public water system, which is used for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The TCEQ has been provided with laboratory test results that now show the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of June 25, 2025.and the boil water notice has been rescinded.

A boil water notice was issued on Tuesday afternoon June 24 for a portion of the Texarkana, Texas area.

Boil Water Notice for These Areas in Texarkana

A contractor working in the area hit a water main, which then the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality issuing the notice. The affected area includes Willis Street from Phenie Street to Caddo Street and Lelia Street.

Residents in the area are advised to boil their water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing their teeth, or washing their hands and face.

Children, Seniors, and people with weakened immune systems can have a higher risk of harmful bacteria.

Boil Water Notice in Texarkana

Be sure to bring the water to a rolling boil for at least two minutes, then let it cool before using. It would be a good idea to use bottled water or water from another safe source.

Texarkana Water Utilities will let customers know when the water is safe and the notice is lifted.
