Two Texarkana Residents Arrested in ATM Theft Case Hours After Robbery

Two Texarkana residents are behind bars after being accused of stealing cash from an ATM and then fleeing the area, according to the Texarkana Texas Police Department.

The robbery happened around 12:30 PM Tuesday, August 4, while an employee was servicing the Capital One Bank ATM near Stateline Avenue and College Drive.  Police said two masked suspects drove up, stole cash cassettes containing an undisclosed amount of money, and then fled the scene.

Investigators later found the suspects had abandoned the vehicle in a nearby neighborhood on E. 35th Street. Police suspected they then switched to a second vehicle that had reportedly been parked there before the theft. The police were right.

Arrests Made Within a Few Hours

Just hours after the robbery, law enforcement agencies from across the region worked together to track down the suspects.

Detectives were able to quickly identify both the vehicles connected to the crime using surveillance video from local businesses and Flock camera technology.

The Texarkana Arkansas Police obtained a search warrant for the 2nd vehicle, which ended up helping them identify a third vehicle in this heist! That third vehicle turned out to be a Honda Accord.
