
Shooting Investigation and Crash Lead to SWAT Raid and Arrest in Texarkana
A shooting investigation by the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has led to the arrest of a Texarkana man and the execution of a high-risk search warrant by the department's SWAT Team.

According to TAPD, officers were dispatched around 11:20 PM on August 15 to reports of gunfire in the 600 block of Price Lane. Police said a vehicle carrying a gunshot victim left the scene and later crashed into a machine shop in the 400 block of Senator Street in Texarkana, Arkansas.
Emergency crews responded and provided medical treatment at the scene before the victim was transported for additional care.
Investigation Leads to Arrest
As the investigation continued, detectives obtained warrants for 33-year-old Decoyae DeWayne Mitchell on charges of First-Degree Battery and 20 counts of Terroristic Act.
According to a press release from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department,
Due to the violent nature of this offense, the Texarkana Police Department SWAT Team was asked to execute a high-risk search and arrest warrant operation.
The operation took place on the morning of August 19 in an apartment at 3302 Washington Street, where Mitchell was known to be living. reside. Mitchell was in the apartment and arrested without incident.

Investigation Continues
TAPD said the investigation remains ongoing and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
