Texarkana Airshow to Bring BBQ, Supercars, Music and More on June 27

As America gets ready to celebrate its 250th birthday this summer, communities across the country are planning special events. In Texarkana, there will be a big celebration featuring airplanes, barbecue, fast cars, live music, and family fun all at one event.

BBQ Competition and Family Fun at Texarkana Airshow

Of course, the big attraction will be the planes, but there will be fun on the ground too. There will be a BBQ Cook-off hosted with the Champions BBQ Alliance. Teams from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana will be competing for a guaranteed $10,000 payout.

The BBQ Cook-Off will have categories in chicken, pork, ribs, and brisket. There will also be a kids' competition and a special Chef’s Choice event for VIP guests later in the day.

5K Run on the Runway in Texarkana

The event will also include a unique 5K race that lets runners spend part of the course on an active airport runway.

The race, hosted by For the Sake of One, is a nonprofit organization that supports children and families involved in foster care.

Supercars and Live Music at The Texarkana Airshow

You'll also have the chance to drive high-performance supercars down the runway through Precision Exotics. Drivers can experience vehicles like Lamborghinis and McLarens all in a controlled setting.

Live music will begin at noon and continue until the airshow starts at 4:30 PM. Performers include Heather Lynn and the Deacons, Cam Allen, and headliner Wade Bowen.

Texarkana Airshow Tickets and Parking Information

Organizers say, please buy tickets and parking passes early to help with the traffic during the event.

Parking will be available at Four States Fairgrounds, with shuttle buses taking guests to the airport throughout the day.
