Tacos & Tunes Tres Returns to Texarkana to Help Local Children

Music, tacos, and golf will all come together this September to support children in the Texarkana area.

CASA and the Texarkana Children's Advocacy Center (TCAC) are bringing back Tacos & Tunes Tres, their biggest annual fundraiser, Sept. 20-21 at Northridge Country Club. The two-day event raises money to help children affected by abuse and neglect across the Greater Texarkana area.

Live Music on Sunday

The weekend begins Sunday, Sept. 20, with an outdoor concert featuring I've Heard Worse, Jerry Deleon & Southbound, and headliner Jackson Wendell. Gates open at 3:30 p.m.

Concert Tickets Cost

$25 for college students with a valid school ID
$50 for general admission
$100 for the Dinner Experience, which includes dinner and two drink tickets
Golf Tournament on Monday

The fundraiser continues Monday, Sept. 21, with the Tacos & Tunes Golf Tournament. Morning and afternoon flights will be available, and organizers encourage teams to register early.

Helping Children in the Texarkana Area

Money raised during the event helps CASA and TCAC provide court-appointed advocates for children in foster care, forensic interviews, family advocacy, trauma-focused therapy, and child abuse prevention programs. Community members can also support the event by becoming sponsors.

Tunnel 2 Towers Steel Across America - Texarkana Stop - June 3, 2026

On the 25th anniversary year of 9/11, this steel beam from the Twin Towers in New York that fell on September 11, 2001, is a must-see. The ceremony was very well done and featured short speeches from both Texarkana Mayors and Fire Chiefs. I know many in attendance weren't even alive when the attack happened 25 years ago, but for those of us who remember exactly where we were and what we were doing when the planes struck the towers, it was an amazing thing to see and touch.
