Spooky Good Time at The Munsters Replica Mansion in North Texas
If you are looking for some spooky fun this October there's nothing more frightful than The Munsters' replica Gothic-style mansion in Waxahachie, Texas a little over a 3-hour drive from Texarkana but well worth the drive.
The Munsters Replica Mansion
If you grew up in the 60s then you probably remember watching the iconic television show The Munsters with Herman and Lilly Munster, Eddie, Grandpa, Marilyn, and the other spooky cast of characters including their pet fire-breathing dragon Spot that lived in between the staircase. Beware! Spot loves to greet its guests by popping out of the staircase with big green glowing eyes.
The Munsters replica mansion is the brainchild of the owners Sandra and Charles McKee who were big fans of the TV show and wanted to turn their home into the iconic mansion for fans of the hit TV show to enjoy for a lifetime.
The house is open pretty much year-round but the month of October is usually the busiest of the year due to Halloween.
As you tour the mansion you will see the infamous coffin-shaped booth and replica organ covered in spider webs.
One of the things that makes the mansion unique is that many of the props are actually from the TV set to help recreate the mood and look of the show.
Guests who visit here are astonished at how everything is detailed just like the show even the distressed darker paint that gives the exterior of the mansion that creepy vibe. Even if you are not familiar with the TV show you will still enjoy touring this replica mansion.
So, if you're looking for some fun family entertainment this October make plans now to visit The Munsters Mansion in Waxahachie, Texas just south of Dallas.
Make sure you ask about the Murder Mystery Shows. For a special guided tour please visit their website or Facebook page.
